Piedmont is often spoken about through its great names: Barolo, Barbaresco, white truffles, and historic cellars. This journey looks beyond the labels, following the growers, farmers, restaurants, and landscapes that give the region its real shape.
Led by Alice Feiring, one of America’s most distinctive voices in wine writing, the week moves from Torino to Carema, Monferrato, Dogliani, Barbaresco, and the Langhe. Expect private tastings with independent producers, conversations around farming and cellar choices, market and food experiences, a white truffle hunt, and meals built around the wines and traditions of Piedmont.

Arrival in Torino
Sunday, October 25
- Arrive independently in Torino and settle into a five-star hotel in the elegant heart of Piedmont’s capital.
- Meet Alice Feiring and begin the journey with a walk through the city, followed by a gelato tasting with Alberto Marchetti.
- Gather for a welcome dinner at Scannabue, a Torino favorite with deep Piedmontese roots and a wine list chosen to set the tone for the week.
Carema & Alpine Nebbiolo
Monday, October 26
- Travel north from Torino toward Alto Piemonte, where Nebbiolo grows on steep terraces at the edge of the Alps.
- Visit Monte Maletto in Carema, a small grower working in one of Piemonte’s most distinctive and demanding wine landscapes.
- Lunch near Ivrea, with dishes and wines shaped by the mountain-influenced side of northern Piemonte.
- Return to Torino in the afternoon, with time for a walk in Via Po or a classic café stop. The evening is yours, with dinner at leisure.
Neviglie to Pollenzo
Tuesday, October 27
- Check out and leave Torino for the rolling hills of southern Piemonte.
- Take part in a private mozzarella-making session at a local dairy, focused on the practical craft behind fresh cheese.
- Continue to Valdisole Wine Estate in the hills of Neviglie for a visit, tasting, and lunch, with Alice Feiring guiding the conversation.
- Check into a former Savoy royal estate and dine inside a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Bra Market, Dogliani & Pollenzo
Wednesday, October 28
- Begin at Bra’s local market, exploring seasonal produce and ingredients with an eye toward the cooking class later that day.
- Continue to Dogliani for a private tasting with Nicholas Altare, an independent grower in one of Piemonte’s most under-discussed wine zones.
- Lunch in Alta Langa, followed by a visit to the Wine Bank and the University of Gastronomic Sciences in Pollenzo.
- End the day with a hands-on pasta class centered on tajarin and ravioli del plin, followed by a dinner finished with white truffles.
Truffle Hunt, Alba & Barbaresco
Thursday, October 29
- Begin with a private white truffle hunt in the woods, guided by a local truffle hunter and trained dogs.
- Continue to Alba for a walk through the historic center and lunch at a local trattoria.
- Visit Barbaresco for a private tasting with Milva Fenocchio, focused on Nebbiolo and the character of this historic appellation.
- Stop in La Morra for a late-afternoon walk before returning to Pollenzo. Evening at leisure, with dinner on your own.
Pollenzo, Barolo & Farewell
Friday, October 30
- Depart from Pollenzo and head into the Barolo area for a private winery visit and tasting with Trediberri.
- Enjoy lunch amidst the vines at a selected regional table.
- In the afternoon, visit a hazelnut producer in the hills around Alba, focused on one of Piemonte’s most prized ingredients.
- Return to the hotel for time to pack or relax before a celebratory farewell dinner in Perno.
Departure
Saturday, October 31
- Breakfast at the hotel, followed by check-out and private transfers to Torino or Milano Malpensa Airport.
