Sardegna: Wild and Rooted

Coast, craft, fire, and a culture with its own gravity.

Overview

Sardinia does not try to win you over straight away. That is part of the appeal. The coastline is all glare, salt, and open space, but the real pull is further in, where cheese is still made by hand, copper is worked over flame, and people speak about food, tools, and place with unusual precision.

This journey moves between Cagliari and the island’s interior without flattening either one. You get sea air, markets, and brightness, then a more inward Sardinia: Gergei, Seulo, workshops, shepherds, makers, and tables with real weight behind them. It is not polished, and that is exactly why it stays with you.

What to expect: cheese, craft, inland culture, and the island beyond the coast.

Season: March to mid June and mid September to October.
